Pattern: Cozy, published in Knitty, Fall 2004
Yarn: Noro Cash Iroha, 8 skeins
Needles: Denyse Interchangables, size 7
Time to complete: I spent about 6 months working on this one, but I'd pretty much put it down for 4 of them. It went with me to Belgium, but I got tired of it after that. When my husband mocked the number of unfinished objects I had on my desk, I decided this was the easiest of them to finish while sitting there. (It's less portable than socks.)

Prep time: 60 minutes

  • 1 9 inch unbaked pie crust
  • 1 ounce sweet or 2 oz unsweetened chocolate
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 c hot water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 c pecans
  • 1/4 c margarine

Melt chocolate and margarine over low heat. Stir in milk, water and eggs and mix well. Remove from heat. Add remaining ingredients and pour into pastry shell.

Bake 40-45 min or until center is set. Cool, then chill 3 hours.
